Prayer #94: For Weddings During the COVID-19 Crisis
The outbreak of COVID-19 has greatly disrupted 2020 wedding plans across the country. Weddings planned for the spring and summer have had to be postponed, sometimes more than one time. Some are even concerned that they may have to postpone their wedding a third time. The brides- and grooms-to-be have had to resend invitations and cancel venues. Bridal parties and families have had to postpone their travel plans.
Those working in the wedding industry have also been considerably affected. Wedding photographers, florists, cake bakers, caterers, jewelers, and those renting venues have all experienced severe financial downturns as a result of the onset of the Coronavirus. All told, around the nation, millions of dollars of wedding-related revenue have been lost.
Pray for those trying to plan a wedding now in the midst of the uncertainty due to COVID-19. The joyous time of planning a wedding has, for many, become a very stressful undertaking. Pray for those the many couples, and their families, who are experiencing anxiety and depression because of the disruption of wedding plans. Pray too for those working in businesses that support weddings who are struggling financially. Pray above all that these couples would seek to have a Christ-centered marriage.
Matt. 19:5: "For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh."
