Prayer #83: For the Shortage of Blood During the Coronavirus Crisis
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to critical shortages in blood banks across the United States. This is not due to patients with the virus needing blood. Rather, the shortage is due to the lack of donations coming in. "Our collections have really plummeted because of the concerns about being out in the community," Dr. Justin Kreuter, transfusion medicine specialist at the Mayo Clinic Blood Donor Center. "We're used to living at a one- to two-week blood inventory. Now a lot of the country is living at a one- to two-day inventory." Following the onset of the Coronavirus, many blood drives that blood banks depend on were canceled. Donations are needed urgently now.
Pray today for the shortage of blood in the blood banks to be alleviated quickly. Pray that donations from healthy individuals can be encouraged in the safe and sterile blood donor center environments and that many would respond.
Gal. 6:9 "And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."
