Prayer #19: For the Toilet Paper/Kleenex Shortage
One of the earliest impacts of the onset of the Coronavirus was the rapid disappearance of toilet paper and Kleenex from the store shelves, initially because of panic buying, driven especially by social media, which led to a resultant hoarding. With many people at home now instead of work, more of the type of softer toilet paper for home-use is in higher demand, by at least 40% more than normal. Kleenex is being used as a substitute, so it too is now in short supply. Shelves have been empty of these paper goods for weeks now. Manufacturers and distributors of toilet paper are struggling greatly to keep up with the demand, even with factories working around the clock. It may be some time before normal stocks of these paper goods are restored. In the meantime, there will need to be sharing. Somewhere in our neighborhoods, there are large stockpiles of toilet paper!
We do pray today for stocks of toilet paper and tissue paper to be restored in retail stores. Pray for those who are manufacturing and are trying to get ahead of this unprecedented demand. Pray that they would have enough workers and creative methods to be able to catch up. Pray also that neighbors, and especially Christians, that have abundant supplies of toilet paper would, through love and generosity, share with those who have little or none.
"Do not neglect to do good and share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God."
